If your business — or a business at your exact address — already has a record, D&B may simply assign an existing DUNS number instead of creating a new one. This can happen in as little as a day or two, because there’s nothing left to verify.
If your business is new or hasn’t shown up in any public registry yet (common for freshly incorporated companies or early-stage sole proprietors), D&B has to build your file from scratch, which takes longer.
2. How closely your application matches your official documents
This is the single biggest cause of delay we see. If your application says “Sharma Enterprises” but your GST certificate says “Sharma Enterprises Pvt. Ltd.,” that mismatch triggers a manual review, which adds days or weeks.

Most agencies aren’t actually accelerating D&B’s internal queue — they’re filling out the same free form on your behalf and charging you for the convenience.
